Quick Updates New Wig June 20 I got an exciting gift from my friend Mandy.  Way back in the begining of my diagnosis I talked about always wanting red hair.  She went and got me a red wig!  It is very cute, but I need to do some shaping and shortening of the bangs. Oncologist Appointment June 22nd I met with DH today.  He is still very happy with everything so far.  He noted that he couldn't even feel the big lump anymore.  We talked about the next rounds of treatment.  Everything is still going according to plan.  On Friday, we will do the last treatment of the first three month plan.  Then we will take a week off to let my WBC get built up a bit.  After that, it will be only once every three weeks.  He did say since it is new medication and larger doses to get through the three weeks, my side effects would expect to be worse.  Mainly fatique and nausea.  So, I am preparing for that after the July 8th treatment. Just Keeping Things Exciting Hubby Away / Mom's Surgery / Busted Pressure Tank June 3rd through 10th You might remember from the last blog, Robert is still out of town on a fishing trip.  I always know that ONE bad thing is going to happen while he is away.  He must get at least one frantic phone call to help me fix something or just calm me down. There was a lot on the table for this week, but we had back up plans on top of back up plans.  Mom was scheduled for surgery on Monday morning.  I won't get into the details of all of that, just know that we were to be at Barnes bright and early on Monday.  We are all very small town people, and driving to Barnes is nerve wracking just thinking about it, but we would be fine.  Sandy was going with us, as well.  Since Robert was out of town, she came for some extra needed support for the day.  Some might remember that when mom had surgery three years ago, she decided to take a two month nap afterwards....

Going Through the Motions Chemo Day 7 and The Wig May 20th Robert was with me for the chemo session.  All went very uneventful.  Snagged a private room almost by accident.  It was going to be a shorter session, so the nurse knew I could be finished before the next patient arrived.  Afterwards, we went to The Country Cafe for lunch and then decided to take the scenic route home.  While we were driving, I recieved a call from Image Choices that my wig was ready.  We made a quick stop at home and then headed to pick it up. Once again, it was a very quick appointment.  We snagged up a few extra accessories and cleaning/conditioning products and were on our way.  I set it up at home to help it relax a bit and left it alone for a couple of days.  Everytime I looked at it, I thought it was too intimidating to attempt to try to wear or even just put it on my head. Apparently, I forgot to take a selfie, so here is a pic from almost the same day. Happy...
